Catherine Johnson's Research

Catherine’s research explored themes of entitlement, including its varying definitions and characteristics under the supervision of Dr. Glenda Fisk. She then addressed the implications of entitlement for organizations, including negative workplace outcomes, relationships, and human resource management policy and practice. This resulted in conclusions of how organizations can address entitlement, including strategies of screening during hiring, impression management through realistic job previews, and training.

Morgan Oddie's Research

Under Professor Deborah Leighton’s supervision, Morgan’s research examined religious accommodation in the Ontario workplace. Discursive analysis led to conclusions regarding the inadequacy of current legal treatments. This research largely focused on the Supreme Court of Canada’s definition of religion for the purposes of accommodation, and the limitations it has when applying it to case law.
